Sortimo sets the standard for lightweight construction and sustainability: the facelift model of the Jumbo Unit and SR5 Reduced to Max van-racking system for maximum efficiency

With the growing use of electric vehicles, vehicles are becoming increasingly compact, while batteries take up valuable space in the loading area. Urban areas also demand smaller, more manoeuvrable vehicles. Sortimo is responding to these challenges by further developing the Jumbo Unit and the SR5 Reduced to Max racking system, which make optimal use of the available storage space. Both products are characterised by their lightweight construction, which not only increases the payload but also helps to save energy. These efficient loading space solutions offer maximum efficiency even when space is limited and can be experienced live at the Sortimo stand, Hall 13, C34, at the IAA Transportation.

Maximum use of loading space in focus
A particular highlight of the new Jumbo Unit is the weight reduction. The use of corrosion-resistant aluminium reduces the weight of the Jumbo Unit by up to 40%. This ensures a higher payload in the van and at the same time reduces the vehicle's energy consumption. This lightweight construction supports the ‘Reduced to max’ concept from Sortimo, which runs through the product portfolio and in which maximum benefit is achieved with minimum use of materials.
In addition, the new design of the Jumbo unit, together with the SR5 van racking system, ensures a harmonious and modern look in the vehicle interior.

The SR5 Reduced to Max van racking system has been specially developed to make optimum use of the available loading space while also focusing on sustainable solutions. By switching to particularly light, robust and 100% recyclable aluminium, which is also used in the aerospace industry, Sortimo has achieved a considerable weight reduction of up to 25%, depending on the individual configuration, without compromising the proven crash safety of the van racking system. This enables an ideal combination of efficiency and environmental awareness – tailor-made for the challenges of modern trade.
