Ahead of its time: Sortimo presents the Vision Van at the IAA Transportation 2024

Sortimo, market leader for intelligent mobility solutions and digital services, is presenting the Vision Van - a pioneering concept for equipping light commercial vehicles - at the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hall 13, Stand C34. The aim is to set new standards in the integration of light commercial vehicles and mobility solutions in order to offer customers customised and flexible mobility solutions from a single source. The vision goes far beyond the product. The entire value stream is to be synchronised so that all industry solutions can be handed over to customers as turnkey solutions. Reinforcement for sustainable growth and innovation.

The Vision Van is pre-equipped with the new, patented SRS - Sortimo Rail System - and offers freely configurable solutions consisting of different modules that provide customers with a commercial vehicle that is ready for immediate use. The rail system is used both for load securing and for form-fit anchoring of Sortimo mobility solutions for trade, service or CEP services. The modules can be installed and removed quickly and easily thanks to the swap function. This allows maximum flexibility of the fleet to be achieved with rental solutions. The pre-equipped Sortimo Vision Van has been developed for the circular economy and thus significantly reduces the CO2 footprint. This patented Sortimo technology ensures flexible adaptation to different business models such as leasing, rental, sharing and increases versatility for users.

Versatility for all industries

The Vision Van was specially developed to meet the requirements of tradespeople, service companies and courier, express and parcel services (CEP). With Sortimo mobility solutions such as the SR5 Swap, the SR5 Cart and the CEP Swap, which are all equipped with the new Quick 
Lock system, the Vision Van adapts exceptionally quickly to a wide range of transport requirements. 
The Quick Lock system enables Sortimo products to be changed safely and quickly. The SR5 Cart with Quick Lock also comes from the Sortimo innovation centre. As a removable van racking system on wheels, it sets new standards in flexibility and efficiency when used by tradesmen and service technicians on site.

Innovation through automation: Sortimo ProPartition Automatic for greater convenience and safety

Another highlight of the Vision Van is the ProPartition Automatic - a partition wall with an automatic door that significantly speeds up the delivery process and makes it safer: the door opens automatically when the driver gets up from their seat and closes again as soon as they take their seat. This automation saves around 10 seconds at each delivery stop, saving around 30 minutes with a daily volume of 200 stops. For companies, this means a significant increase in productivity. At the same time, the automatic separation of driver and loading space increases safety during the journey and reduces the risk of accidents. An enormous competitive advantage in the dynamic CEP market.
