Sortimo, the leading supplier of van racking systems and intelligent mobility solutions, is celebrating a world premiere at the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover together with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN). As part of this collaboration, an innovative van racking system will be presented under the motto ‘One Click - Endless Possibilities’, which was developed exclusively for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The system impresses with its high flexibility and reusability over several vehicle life cycles, which makes it particularly sustainable and cost-efficient.
The system is based on a basic rack (space frame) configured and pre-installed with the vehicle. However, the real innovation lies in the new One-Click system: with just one click, the shelving elements can be flexibly and individually adapted to changing requirements over the entire service life of the vehicle. For fleet customers in particular, this offers the additional advantage that a standardised variant can be used to customise the van racking system for the respective vehicle user. Particularly practical: the individual shelving units can be exchanged between different vehicles and inserted or removed as required without any great expenditure of time. The main advantage of this is that the space requirement and the payload are reduced at the same time.

At the same time, the Caddy, the ID. Buzz Cargo and the Crafter will also receive the optional shelving system.’
Sustainability as a key advantage
Another highlight is the sustainable design of the system. The existing shelving contents can be reused in the next vehicle quickly and in an environmentally friendly way with just one click. As the space frame remains in the vehicle, the next user, who may come from a different industry, can easily and flexibly reconfigure the shelving system to suit their needs.
Cost and time savings through self-assembly
A key feature of the One-Click shelving system is the easy and time-saving self-assembly of the shelving units, which can be carried out without specialist knowledge. This flexibility leads to significant savings in investment costs and rapid availability of the fully equipped vehicle.
With this co-operation, Sortimo and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have created an innovative racking system that sets new standards in terms of flexibility, sustainability and cost effectiveness.
